Liberals 'Buzzed'

I thought Buzz Hargrove's recommendation to Quebec voters to vote for the Bloc over the Conservatives was very revealing. Hargrove is the president of the Canadian Auto Workers and usually he is busy pulling the strings of his NDP marionette - in this case Jack Layton. However, in a crass political move Mr. Hargrove switched his support to Liberal anti-family extremist Paul Martin. Ironically, this switch, which at first seemed to be a nuclear torpedo at the heart of the socialist collective NDP, turns out to have been a blessing in disguise. Mr. Layton is now, no doubt. a very happy man. Not so Mr. Martin, who is busy trying to bandage the death blow that Hargrove just delivered to the Liberal campaign by his 'vote Bloc' remarks. The irony is heavy enough to sink one of those newly acquired Liberal submarines (actually, that's a poor analogy seeing as those subs sink all on their own). This entire fiasco so perfectly illustrates the manner in which the Liberals hold on to power. When they aren't busy engaging in hysterical demagoguery they are studiously cobbling together alignments with groups and individuals who will bring them votes. Whether prostituting themselves to the Federation of Associations of Canadian Tamils - an alleged front organization for the Tigers in Canada or acquiescing to the blandishments of Mr. Hargrove, the only scruples the Liberals know are those which will further their obsession for perks and power at the expense of our nation and our future. This Buzz-bomb is poetic justice indeed.
